The Slashdogs – Some Kind of Heaven (ft. Hog Hoggidy Hog)

Pretoria, South Africa’s pioneering “rot & rollers,” The Slashdogs, have just released a new five-track EP called The Wail. Interestingly, it includes this song, “Some Kind of Heaven,” dedicated to Cape Town “pork rockers” (what’s up with South African bands and starting their own genres?) Hog Hoggidy Hog. And more specifically, their frontman George Bacon, who, tragically, died in 2015. It’s crazy how recognisable HHH’s brass section is, from the very first NOTE you can tell it’s Lee Lips and Ross DaBone. Such a signature sound.
